Adele Artis Terlaris 2011 Versi Billboard

TAHUN 2011 menjadi tahun emas bagi Adele. Baru-baru ini penyanyi "Set Fire To The Rain" itu dianugerahi gelaran sebagai Artis Terlaris 2011 dari Billboard. Adele sekaligus memecahkan rekod sebagai penyanyi wanita pertama yang diberi gelar Artis Top versi carta muzik ini. Semua itu didapatkan Adele melalui album "21" (2011) serta single "Rolling in the Deep" yang sukses besar di tahun 2011.

Penyanyi berusia 23 tahun itu berhasil mengalahkan penyanyi papan atas dunia lainnya seperti Rihanna, Katy Perry dan Lady Gaga. Selain mereka semua, nama-nama seperti Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne dan Bruno Mars juga masuk urutan sepuluh besar Top 10.

"Kesuksesannya sangat memberi inspirasi kerana hal itu me- nunjukkan masih ada ruang di industri muzik bagi seorang artis yang ingin membuat impiannya menjadi nyata, bakat asli," kata Tye Comer, seorang editor Billboard.

"Bukan hanya sekadar kostum panggung yang bagus atau video mahal, tapi suara emas digabung dengan lagu bagus memiliki kekuatan untuk meraup jutaan telinga pendengar dan tetap membuat mereka tertarik."

Di Billboard, single "Rolling in the Deep" berhasil mengalahkan lagu "Party Rock Anthem" milik LMFAO, "Firework" dan "E.T." Katy Perry serta "Give Me Everything" Pitbull. Adele yang baru saja menjalani operasi pita suara mengaku bersyukur dengan pencapaian prestasinya.
